We are overcome with sadness yet blessed by heartwarming memories as we announce the passing of Pietro Pecora, a man of exceptional character born 94 years ago in Cosenza, Italy. After a courageous struggle with Parkinson’s disease for several years, he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is mourned by his loving wife Elvira Alberelli after 68 years of marriage. He was a loving and devoted father and will be missed dearly by his children Anna (Tony), Assunta (John), Pina (Bruno) and Linda (Roberto). Adored by his grandchildren Robert (Rosanna), Melissa (Arturo), Stephanie (Roberto), Michael, Nadia, Elana and Alyssa (José). Cherished great-grandfather to Ariana, Sofia, Eva and Lea. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Maria, Lidia, Mario (Silvia) and Elvira, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Although a man of few words, his thoughtful, kind and warm personality touched all who came to know him. He was extremely dedicated, hardworking, took pride in all that he did and was so fair with everyone. His great warmth was matched by a desire to assist anyone in need of any kind of help. Above all he treasured his family and embraced every moment with them with his radiant smile. We are blessed to call him dad and nonno. We know that he will be our guardian angel watching over us as he always has.
The family is especially grateful to his caregivers Lourdes, Miriam, Amy and Dhouchelle for their kindness and for the loving care they gave our father every day.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Parkinson Society.
