Loreta Aspromonte Piccirelli

Loreta Aspromonte Piccirelli

August 29, 1935 - February 11, 2024

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of Loreta Aspromonte at the age of 88. She died surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

She is predeceased by her devoted husband of 67 years, Giuseppe Piccirelli, her parents, Celeste Passalacqua and Marziale Aspromonte, and her brother Giuseppe Aspromonte.
Born in rural Italy on August 29, 1935, in the contrada of Solagne di Pennadomo (Torricella Peligna) she left in 1954 for the unfamiliar land of Canada in search of a less arduous future together with her husband. There, she found happiness and fulfillment, especially through her family, for whom her big heart and unwavering support were an endless ray of sunshine. She also found joy in cooking, gardening, bowling, or a game of cards.
She will be remembered for her courage, her kindness, her strength and her smile by all who knew her.
She will be sorely missed by her loving children Clara (Antonio Massarelli) and Mario (Giovanna Crecco), her four cherished grandchildren, Geremia, Dahlia, Mikaela and Zachary, her brother Pietro (Severina), nieces and nephews as well as many family members and friends.
