Giuseppina Pupo Lo Manto

March 18, 1933 - January 28, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Giuseppina Pupo Lo Manto, on January 28th, 2024, at the age of 90.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her loving husband, Vincenzo (Enzo) Lo Manto, her parents Elisabetta Ortona and Vincenzo Pupo, her brothers Pasquale Pupo (late Dianne Mollo Pupo), Anthony Pupo, and her sisters Rosina Miriello (Saverio Miriello) and Edda Portaro (Armando Portaro).

She is survived by her devoted son and daughter, Tony (Teresa) and Irene (late Berardino), her brother Ralph Pupo (late Arlene) her sister-in-law Janet Pupo and her adored grandchildren, Amanda (Yves), Ariana (Pascal), and Daniel. She also leaves behind numerous relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and compassion.

As the matriarch of the family, Giuseppina was the heart and soul of our lives. She possessed an unparalleled ability to ensure everyone’s well-being, always extending a helping hand and offering comfort to those in need. Her home was always filled with love and laughter and her culinary talents were unmatched. Her delicious meals brought joy and comfort to all fortunate enough to taste them.  

She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her legacy of kindness and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Giuseppina was the embodiment of strength and resilience. She greeted each day with determination, refusing to let anything dim her spirit. Despite numerous challenges throughout her life, she consistently triumphed, embodying the true essence of her character. In her final moments, her inner strength shone brightly as she embarked on life’s ultimate journey with grace and courage.

She will forever live on in our hearts.


Place of funeral

The funeral will take place on February 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Defense Church (6800 Henri Julien Ave, Montreal, Quebec H2S 2V4) followed by burial at Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery (4601 Ch. de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, QC H3V 1E7)
