It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Domenico Antonio Tozzi on June 22, 2023, at Jean-Talon Hospital, Montreal.

Domenico is survived by his cherished wife, Maria Giacinta, of 62 years and his sons Raffaele, Giovanni and Marco.

Domenico was a loving husband and exceptional father; his passing has already left a huge and unconsolable void for his wife and sons, who so dearly loved him. Domenico enjoyed spending time with family and friends and sharing a laugh with everyone. 

He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Aleeshia Maria, Mattia, Katya Alessandria, and Domonique, his sister Elisa, brother Giovanni, son-in-law Diego, his sister-in-laws Angela, Maddalena and Lucia, brother-in-law Vincenzo, and Gelane, his former daughter-in-law.

The family will receive condolences at the Complexe Funeraire Loreto on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, between 2 pm and 5 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm. The funeral mass will occur at Madonna di Difesa Church on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 12 pm. The cemetery service will be at Notre Dame des Neiges.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to either the Jean Talon Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

RIP, we love and will miss you.

The funeral will take place on July 11, 2023 at 12:00 AM at Notre-Dame-de-la-Défense Church (6800 Henri Julien Ave, Montreal, Quebec H2S 2V4) followed by burial at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges cemetery (4601 Ch. de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, QC H3V 1E7)

  2. Dear Giacinta and family,
    We were saddened to hear of the passing of your dear husband Domenico. We were always happy to see him every Wednesday at the Club des Joviales where he came to all the tables to collect money for bingo and coffee. It’s always a shock when one looses a loved one and it’s never easy but may you be comforted in knowing that he was loved by many people around him. Our deepest condolences.

  3. We are all saddened by the passing of our dear cousin, Domenico. I will always remember him as being cheerful, happy and he so loved to tease and joke around. He loved life and he loved his family & friends He is truly missed. May he Rest in Peace.

  6. Chère cousine,

    C’est avec une très grande tristesse que nous avons reçu l’avis du décès de ton compagnon de vie, depuis une soixantaine d’années, Domenico (mon cousin).

    Son départ, cette triste conclusion, ne faisait pas partie des expectatives, même si la réalisation que sa santé était moins bonne s’installait progressivement – mais pas à ce point.

    Domenico a eu la chance d’avoir autour de lui des personnes qui l’aimaient (et qui l’aiment toujours), et qui ont choisi de l’accompagner tout au long de sa partie de son grand voyage ici sur terre, en journées de soleil, ainsi que de pluie.

    L’on peu dire, sans aucune hésitation, qu’avec Domenico la vie n’était pas banale. Il marchait à son propre rythme de tambour, d’évènement à évènement, de projet à projet, souvent de surprise à surprise. Domenico ne perdait pas grand temps avec les regrets.

    Son départ crée un très grand vide.

    À toi, tes enfants (Raffaele, Giovanni et Marco), tes petit-enfants, et à tous tes proches, nos plus sincères condoléances.

    La perte d’un être chéri fait très mal, et exige son prix de douleurs de ceux et de celles qui restent. La vie est faite ainsi pour ceux et celles qui aiment.

    Doris, Stéphanie (et les siens) et moi espérons ( et nous vous le souhaitons grandement) qu’avec le temps, les souvenirs des moments très heureux du voyage de et avec Domenico sur cette terre, vous apporteront à tous et à toutes un début de cette paix si précieuse, et si requise pour continuer à aller de l’avant.

    Que le Tout-puissant, avec toute sa miséricorde, se retrouve à vos côtés, à chaque moments, vous accompagnant, dans les moments de cette tristesse et d’épreuve.
