  1. I hope that in due time your family receives God’s peace that excels all thought, so that it will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. God is called the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation. So rest assured that he cares for all his creatures and he would never bring us suffering. A soothing scripture I like is Psalm 34:18 which reads: “Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” Thus, while you await the Paradise where no one will be sick and die, may you lean on Jehovah God to cope with your separation from our beloved Franco.

  2. Thinking of Zio Franco. Even while at work. I don’t think anybody was a better embodiment of Mother Teresa’s teachings than him. This quote especially makes me think of him, for none of us ever left him without being better and happier. »Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile. » My condolences, love you all. Full Italian quote: « Siate gentili e misericordiosi. Fate in modo che nessuno venga da voi senza andarsene migliore e più felice. Siate espressione vivente della bontà di Dio: bontà nei vostri occhi, nel volto, nel sorriso, nel saluto. Ai bambini, ai poveri ed a tutti coloro che soffrono e sono soli donate sempre un sorriso felice. Donate loro non soltanto le vostre cure, ma anche il vostro cuore. »
