It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Cianciaruso (née Mauro) at the age of 84, on July 26, 2025. Born in Italy on September 8, 1940, Maria was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, whose legacy of love, resilience, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In 1959, Maria bravely immigrated to Canada, where she began a new chapter in her life with her beloved husband, Rocco Cianciaruso. Together, they built a life full of love, hard work, and family. Maria was predeceased by Rocco, her loving husband, and her life partner of 50 years.
Maria leaves behind two devoted children, Frank (Mara) and Teresa (Wayne), who were the pride and joy of her life. She was the loving grandmother of Erika (Sennett), Robert, Jordan, and Eva, and the doting great-grandmother of her little Theo.
As the eldest of seven siblings, Maria was a beloved sister to Grazia, Michelina, JoAnn, Agata, Silvana, and Anna. The bond she shared with her sisters was unbreakable, and her nurturing spirit and wisdom were a guiding light for them all.
Maria will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her dedication to her family, and her vivacious, bubbly nature. Maria’s infectious smile and culinary skills will be dearly missed, but her memory will remain a cherished part of our lives forever.
May Maria rest in peace, surrounded by the love of her family and the eternal light of Heaven.
