Assunta Sgrosso Caporale

October 3, 1943 – January 1, 2023

Assunta Sgrosso Caporale, born in Avellino, Italy (Campania) on October 3, 1943, has passed away suddenly and peacefully in Montreal, her adopted city of residence for more than 55 years, on January 1, 2023.

Known for her cooking, her big hugs, her endlessly kind heart, and her unconditional love for her children, she never had an unkind word for anybody, and all who met her were drawn to her beautiful soul. She is now reunited with her late husband and love of her life, Antonio Caporale, her late brother, Quirino Sgrosso (Silvana), as well as her late parents, Alberto Sgrosso and Rosina Della Sala. She leaves a huge void in the hearts of her three children: Angela (Claudio), Mirella (Raffi) and Domenico, as well as her brothers, Vittorio (Agnes) and Luigi (Palmina). She will be further missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, in Montreal, Italy, and the USA.
