It is with great sadness that the family of Rosetta Sciortino Cammalleri announce the passing of their beloved Mother.
On the morning of December 31, at the age of 85 our Mom took her last breath. Born on February 9, 1937 in Cerignola in the Region of Puglia in Italy, 5th child of Savina and Calogero Sciortino, our Mom was pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years, Pietro Cammalleri, and her siblings, Tonino, Angela, Rosaria and Leonarda.
Rosetta will be warmly remembered for her loving and generous nature, and her ever-lasting love and devotion for her family.
Our dear Mom will be immensely missed by her children, Joseph (Madeleine), Maria, Carlo (Pina), her grand-children, Amy (Ranjit), Rocco (Somayeh), Rose Marie ( David), Pietro Sr, Francesco, Rosetta, Pietro and Savina and her most beloved great-grandchildren, Adrian, Sienna, Matteo and Valentina.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and other workers at the Montreal General Hospital 17th floor for their impeccable medical care, their compassion and the comfort they gave to our beloved Mom.

My mother, Concetta is the daughter of Pietro Sciortino (son of Giuseppe Sciortino, whom the latter was the brother of your grandfather Calogero)…..hence your mother and my grandfather Pietro were 1st cousins.
In 1962, your father Pietro (bless his soul) signed as guarantor for the immigration to Canada of my grandmother (Maria Ragusa, widow of Pietro Sciortino) and her three sons Giuseppe, Pasquale, and Francesco Sciortino. Our family owes a debt of gratitude to your parents.
