April 18, 1941 – October 11, 2025

It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Franco Leo, on October 11, 2025, at the age of 84. He leaves behind his children Anthony and Cardinal Frank as well as his grandchildren Sabrina Maria and Francesco.

He will also be dearly missed by the extended family, numerous friends and parishioners of Our Lady of Consolata parish. He lived a life of love and kindness, hard work and deep faith. He will be fondly missed. May the Lord be gracious to him and welcome him Home to Heaven.

 


Place of funeral

The funeral mass will take place on October 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Consolata (1700 Rue Jean-Talon E, Montreal QC H2E1T2) followed by burial at Repos St-François d'Assise cemetery (6893 Sherbrooke St E, Montreal, Quebec H1N 1C7)

    We feel blessed and honoured to have met your dad Francesco in Rome last year during the December 2024 Consistory when you were elevated to the College of Cardinals. You made him a very proud dad. Even though we met him for a short while we will always remember him as an exceptional, loving and gentle soul with a beautiful profound warm smile that embraced the entire world. He will truly be missed and remembered by many.
    May God and Mother Mary grant you and your family strength, courage, peace and comfort especially at this most difficult time. May he rest forever in the peace of Christ. Amen.
