It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Antonietta Lisella Gioia on Saturday August 31, 2024 at the age of 89. She is reunited with her beloved husband Pietro, her parents, Elisa and Giovanni, as well as her sibling Angela (late Arturo Prata). She leaves to mourn her loving daughter, Pierina.
She will be dearly missed by her sisters Cristina Gioia (late Guido Gioia), Alessandra Lisella (late Giuseppe Armano), Elena Lisella (Domenico Fiore), her brothers Mario Lisella (late Gisele Cloutier), Franco Lisella (late Maria Gioia) & her sister-in-law Edda D’Amico (Michele D’Amico) (Toronto) as well as numerous godchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Antonietta was born in San Massimo, Campobasso, Italy on November 8 1934 and arrived on the shores of Canada on June 14 1953 at the age of 18, totting the infamous carton suitcase, with her younger brother Mario who was 14. This was the beginning of a life and future she created for herself and her beloved family.
You will forever be in our hearts.
Rest in heavenly peace dear mom.
Till we meet again.
We will love you forever and always.
Donations to the Jewish General Hospital & The Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
