Nicola Tassoni

Bigger than Life. Devoted to his family. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather. A man of great many
talents.
Nicola proudly served his community throughout his life, always ready to help when and where needed.
He was a softball coach for youngsters and also taught them how to swim. He had a big heart and loved
taking his children , grandchildren , relatives , friends , fishing. He enjoyed deep-sea diving .
Nicola duly served in the Royal 22nd Regiment Fusiliers Mount Royal and as a bodyguard to Quebec
Prime Minister Maurice Duplessis, Quebec Prime Minister Paul Sauvé, and Mayor of Montreal Jean Doré.
He was also an elite marksman ,master structural iron and steel welder, a master whistler, and a man
with a deep appreciation for films, music , all that was cutting edge technology ,cars, art, painting,
traveling, puzzles, people, and lemon meringue pie. His joyful spirit, quick wit, and boundless kindness
left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rita; his children, Guylaine , Adamo, Stefano (Lucy), and
Leona; his grandchildren, Joseph, Vincenza (Alberto), Rita (James),Bianca (Devon), Tanya, Alexandra,
Bianca, Shawn, William, Nicolas (Patricia), and Mathieu, along with their families. Nicola is also lovingly
remembered by his sisters, Nicolette and Lucy; his nephews and nieces Tony and Adamo, Paul (Lina),
Anna, and Judy .His brothers-in-law Réjean ,Claude ,René , Charles-Émile, Guy (Louise), Pierre ; his
sisters-in-law Ginette(Yvon), Mona , Agathe , Rachel , Lise ,and their families.
Our family would like to express our heartfelt thankfulness to Joseph D. Cuffaro for always paying special
attention to our father.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Montreal Heart Institute,
Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, and CLSC Olivier-Guimond for their care, kindness, and
professionalism.
