It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Giuseppe Starnino born in Sipicciano, Galluccio, Italy, on March 16th, 1932. After a long and painful struggle against Alzheimer’s, he died peacefully on September 8th, 2020 at the CHSLD Jeanne-Le Ber Institute in Montréal, surrounded by his loving family.
Giuseppe arrived in Montréal in 1955 to start a new life. He was a young man willing to learn any skill and learnt the trade of an iron welder. He wished to start a family and he succeeded with great result, which he was proud of all his life. He had a passion for his garden and his fruit trees. But above all, he loved his family and couldn’t wait to see everyone. When we were all together, he would proudly say, “this is paradise! »
Giuseppe will be reunited with his wife Assunta Di Cunto of 62 years of marriage who died on September 13th, 2018. Giuseppe was an exceptional father to Rosa (Pasquale Capparelli), Mario (Astrid Andren), Pina (Orlando Mazzuca), Roberto (Linda Pecora). Adored grandfather of Vanessa (Daniel), Stefania, Mario (Melissa), Cassandra (Rajwinder), Louisia (Daniel), Victoria, Philip and Alyssa. Cherished great grandfather to Claudia, Victor and Isabella.
He will be missed dearly by his sisters Virgilia and Elena. Giuseppe will be reunited with his deceased family, his father Giuseppe, his mother Maria and his brothers and sisters Luigi, Pasquale, Vincenza and Antonietta.
We are very grateful for the help of Christopher Sappracone who visited our father several times a week and to the amazing CHSLD staff at Jeanne-Le Ber for their kindness and for the loving care they gave our father every day.
