December 6, 1933 - August 13, 2022

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Nicola Marino Merlo on Saturday August 13 2022 at the age of 88 .

He leaves behind his beloved wife Antonietta (with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on August 20), his daughters Concettina and Marianna (Carl), his dear grandson Kevin Nicolas and step grandson Nicolas , his niece Isabella (Joe), nephews Rosario and Antonino, grand nieces Claudia  and Samantha and caregiver Elisa Sanchez.

A loving and devoted husband, a simple man with a generous heart, he leaves those who knew him with many memories and he will be greatly missed .

He will join his late sisters and brother-in-laws Carmela (Gennarino) and Concettina (Calogero), as well as Pasquale.

May the Lord join them together at His heavenly table.

The family requests that all visitors wear a mask and follow covid protocol.


Place of funeral

The funeral will take place on August 26, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Notre-Dame-de-la-Consolata Church (1700 Rue Jean-Talon E, Montréal, QC H2E 1T2) followed by burial at Le Repos Saint-François d'Assise cemetery (6893 Sherbrooke St E, Montreal, Quebec H1N 1C7)

  2. Zio, whenever you are, I want to let you know how much you meant to your nephews. They loved you so much and always looked up to you. Your nephew Ross always spoke highly of you and would state how much he missed you. You were very much loved and looked up to. Rest In Peace dearest uncle.

  4. My dearest uncle, it is with a heavy heart that we heard of your passing…. you being the last of the 4 siblings who left the physical world. You will now be reunited with you sister, my beloved mom Concettina and my dad Calogero Scaffidi), you eldest sister Carmela and her husband Gennarino Nudi and your eldest brother Mario, as well as your parents Concetta & Antonio Marino-Merlo. To Zia Antoinetta and cousins Connie & Anna, I send you love and strength in this most difficult time. I will always have very fond memories of him…. gone but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.
