32 Franco Barbuto

32 Franco Barbuto

June 2, 1945 - January 31, 2023

It is with heavy hearts and much sadness that we announce the passing of Franco Barbuto (born in Fuscaldo, Calabria Italy, 1945)  in Montreal on January 31st, 2023.

Franco was an artist in every sense of the word. Some people might not know that his father hailed from Vietri Sul Mare on the Amalfitana Coast and so Neapolitan blood ran deep through his veins. This we truly believe, is where his immense passion for music and entertainment stems from.

Franco , through passionate storytelling, endless number of jokes, joyful presence and of course finally through his passionate musical performances, has left an unforgettable mark on everybody who has had the pleasure of knowing him. Everybody has a Franco story or two that is special and personal to them.

Franco’s crowning musical moment came rather early in his career when he had the honor in 1976 for three consecutive nights to play alongside Italian legend Claudio Villa.

Franco will be deeply missed by his three children, Ennio (Anna), Elena and Silvia (Alberto). The mother of his children Dina will also miss him.

Franco had the immense pleasure of seeing his namesake grandson Franco Gaetano come into the world only near the end of his own life; he so dearly wanted to be a grandparent and God finally blessed him with this honor.

He will be greatly missed by his siblings, Elena, Silvia, Ennio, Ovidio, and Giancarlo. His sister in laws Tina, Saveria, Lorraine, Franca and brothers-in-law Mario and Angelo, will also greatly feel his loss along with his numerous nieces and nephews from here and abroad. He also leaves behind an infinite number of friends near and far. His brother-in-law Alfonso is pre-deceased.

His companion Maria who was at his side the moment he passed will also miss him greatly.

F.C. Inter and Scuderia Ferrari have gained one more heavenly fan.

Ciao Franco
