Carmine Di Paola

Carmine Di Paola

November 18, 1958 - January 23, 2021

Carmine Di Paola was born to Elena Simeone and Armando Di Paola on November 18, 1958, and like many of his generation, grew up chasing after pigeons, skipping along with his sister and cousins, and trading candy in the city’s ruelles

When he was 21 years old, Carmine secretly started dating his sister Fernanda’s best friend and, thankfully, that turned out OK for all involved.

Carmine and Cathy Pirollo were married for close to 38 years until his passing on January 23, 2021, and had three children together, Melissa, Jessica, and Armando. He was crazy about his kids and incredibly proud of them.

Carmine will be deeply missed by his cherished Cathy, the kids, and Fernanda; his dear niece and nephew Alessia and Anthony Garippo; his loving sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rossana Pirollo and Pat Garippo; his beloved aunts and uncles; all his treasured cousins, of which there are too many to name; and his valued friends.

Carmine is best remembered for his love of V-neck t-shirts; driving back to Montreal from Hollywood, Florida, with his best friend Stef in the summer of 1980 with no AC and the windows rolled up because Stef had just gotten them tinted (Carmine also got into Florida shenanigans with cousins Ezio and Maurice, and Anna and Tina, but those are different stories for a different time); and, most importantly, he is remembered for his kind spirit. A man who loved deeply, gave generously, and made a difference in the lives of those around him.

An all-around good guy, that Carmine.
