Carlo Carriero

Carlo Carriero

January 18, 1934 - July 3, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carlo Carriero, on July 3, 2020, at the age of 86. He died peacefully with his family by his side. Predeceased by his wives Lucia Marino in 1976, and Maria Del Sonno in 2011, his grandson Carlo in 1991, and his son Giuseppe Mario Carriero earlier this year. He will be greatly missed and his memory forever cherished by his loving daughter Fiorigia (John), daughter-in-law Anna, grandchildren Lucie (Jonathan), Thomas, Victoria,  Matthew, his great grandchildren Tiffany and Tatiana, his sister Giuseppina as well as his nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Carlo was born in Italy in 1934, was never afraid of hard work, from plowing the fields in Italy, to waking up at 3:00 am 7 days a week to make bread while he lived in Venezuela, to peeling hundreds of pounds of potatoes per day while working at the Orange Julep, followed by construction work helping build the Decarie Expressway, and finally, slowing down a little, he worked as a maintenance worker at Santa Cabrini Hospital. Though life threw many heart aches at him, Carlo continued to do all that he could for his family, always ready to lend a helping hand, and share words of wisdom. He will live within us forever.

Given the current pandemic restrictions, the family will have a private funeral service on July 9th. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Santa Cabrini Foundation in memory of Carlo Carriero.
